After some minor roster changes, the San Antonio Spurs enter the 2025-26 season with the goal of returning to the playoffs for the first time since 2019 under Mitch Johnson.
The Spurs added Luke Kornet and Lindy Waters III via free agency, while acquiring Kelly Olynyk from the Washington Wizards for Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley. The team also re-signed De’Aaron Fox, Jordan McLaughlin and Bismack Biyombo.

The front office selected Dylan Harper (No. 2) and Carter Bryant (No. 14) in the 2025 NBA draft. The two players are expected to have the opportunity to compete for rotation minutes under Johnson, who was promoted to full-time head coach on May 2.
With the team opening training camp on Sept. 30, Rookie Wire examined the Spurs’ depth chart and offered an early projection of the starters and backups entering the season.
