The Dallas Mavericks have a lot to prove in the upcoming 2025-26 campaign. GM Nico Harrison’s decision to trade Luka Doncic has led to endless criticism, and the NBA‘s biggest stars have gone on record questioning the move. A deep playoff run is the least that will be expected.
It won’t be easy, considering that Kyrie Irving is set to miss a majority of the regular season. An ACL injury means the star point guard is expected to be out till the All-Star break. However, the updates regarding his injury have been positive throughout the offseason, and Irving’s recent workout video is the latest reason for optimism.

Irving seems to be working out on the court already. The video shows the Mavericks guard shooting three-pointers in the gym and burying about seven in a row with ease. Kyrie appears to be in good shape, although a video of him shooting doesn’t exactly mean that he’s close to actually playing in a game.
The signs are good, though. If he continues down this path, then a return might come as soon as January. There have been reports to that effect, and it looks like Irving wants to prove them right. D’Angelo Russell’s arrival in Dallas over the offseason should take some pressure off Kyrie’s shoulders, but he’ll still want to be back as soon as possible.
