ESPN’s Chams Sharnia reported Tuesday (Sept. 23) the Cleveland Cavaliers will sign former Indiana Pacers center Thomas Bryant to a one-year contract.

Bryant, averaged 3.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in the Eastern Conference semi-finals against the Cavs last season.

In 66 regular season games last season playing for the Pacers and Miami Heat Bryant averaged 6.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 0.6 blocks per game.

In eight seasons, Bryant has averaged 8.9 points and 5.1 rebounds in stints with the Los  Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat and Indiana.

He joins a Cavs front court that incudes starters Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley and backups Larry Nance Jr., Nae’Qwan Tomlin and Dean Wade.

Former Cavs draft pick Emoni Bates signs contract with 76ers

Emoni Bates, a Cavs second-round pick in 2023, signed a contract with the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, Sept. 22.

Bates mostly played for the Cavs G League affiliate the Cleveland Charge. He appeared in 25 games for the Cavs the last two seasons, averaging 8.3 minutes per game and 3.1 points.
