Michael Porter Jr. has been chatting up a storm ever since he got traded to the Brooklyn Nets this offseason. The former Denver Nuggets player has recently opened up about a system that involves him and his ex-girlfriend going half and half on the rent.
Porter Jr. made an appearance on Justin Laboy’s podcast Respectfully and talked about a number of topics regarding his career. He opened up a bit about his private life as well at one point. The conversation steered into relationships where Porter made an admission that surprised Laboy a lot.
Despite Porter making 38.3 million this season, he has admitted to making his ex-girlfriend pay half the rent. He explained that the girl had been living beyond her limit, so he stepped in to help. However, after breaking up after six months, he promised to pay half the rent.
“So, like, if I’m paying the remaining months, month to month, I see she’s wilding and like, bro, it’s going to be hard to continue that agreement. You feel me? That’s going to be tough because if you’re out here wilding, get that next dude to pay that rent. Okay. You feel me?”
Porter Wants His Ex To Act Accordingly
Michael Porter Jr. might be making millions, but he isn’t out here spending it freely on everyone. MPJ recently admitted to committing to his part of the deal. While that’s an honorable part of the deal, he feels that he still is owed some part of loyalty.
The former Nuggets player doesn’t want to see his ex-girlfriend going wild while living on his money. It seems that fans were a bit shocked to hear the no-filter thoughts coming from him. While that might be surprising, Porter has been getting a bit carefree about his words. He’s seemingly let loose ever since he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets.
Porter has been creating a lot of headlines in the media lately over his comments. He seems to be making the most out of the hits he’s been giving the fans, and they seem to be laughing it up. However, some people see his words as a calculated way of winning the popularity contest. They’ve criticized him for not putting enough attention on his game and focusing too much outside of it.
