Mo Bamba Signs Deal With Jazz

The Jazz signed Bamba after the Salt Lake City Stars, the team’s G League affiliate, acquired the center in a trade Thursday morning.

The Stars sent Isaiah Wong and Keshawn Justice to the Birmingham Squadron for the seven-year veteran.

Late last week, several members of the Jazz posted photos of Bamba on a hike with the team.

The 27-year-old was acquired by the Jazz in a trade in February, but was waived before ever suiting up in Utah to clear room for more transactions.

Bamba signed a one-year, veteran minimum deal with the Clippers in 2024 and averaged 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in 28 appearances before he was traded to the Jazz.

The center last played for the New Orleans Pelicans, averaging 2.5 points and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 44 percent from the floor.

This is great from the Lakers, Reaves cuts from the slot on Schroder’s baseline drive and Bamba cuts behind him from the other slot. Just good stuff. pic.twitter.com/krUmBd2EVm

Though details of the deal have not been released, the Jazz already had 15 players on guaranteed contracts before announcing Bamba’s signing.

Teams must trim their roster to 15 players on guaranteed contracts by opening night, but can carry additional players during the offseason and training camp.

The Jazz open training camp on Monday and will face the Houston Rockets on the road in the preseason opener on October 8.
