The Miami Heat made a big change last season when they traded away Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors.
It was an up-and-down season for the Miami Heat as they just got into the playoffs through the play-in tournament as the 8th seed.
However, they were quickly dispatched, getting blown out and swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The biggest move Miami made in the offseason was acquiring Norman Powell, who they hope will help Tyler Herro in the backcourt when he returns.

With Herro out of action to begin the season, the Heat are going to need Davion Mitchell to step up.
Mitchell settled in with the Heat and played solid basketball after being traded by the Toronto Raptors.
Mitchell, who is known for his defense, also shot the ball well. In 30 games with the Heat last season, Mitchell shot 50.4 percent from the field and a blistering 44.7 percent from three.
David Thorpe talked about the shooting improvement he saw from Mitchell this summer.
“I saw Davion in LA this summer playing pick-up. It’s just pick-up basketball but I thought he had great command, his shot looked great, I think he’s figured out how to shoot.
“Just by being a shooter and then an ace defender, he’s a net positive player for them.”
David Thorpe is skeptical of the Miami Heat this season
The Heat enter this season with low odds of making the playoffs.
They aren’t rebuilding, but they aren’t necessarily on anyone’s radar unlike previous seasons.
Thorpe is one of those people who is skeptical of the Heat’s chances, saying, “the pieces aren’t great.”
It will take a truly special season from Herro, Bam Adebayo and company for the Heat to make some noise in the Eastern Conference.
