The Orlando Magic made a huge splash this summer trading for Desmond Bane.
The Orlando Magic acquired Desmond Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, four unprotected first-round picks and one first-round pick swap.
It was a very steep price to pay, but the Magic believe Bane is the piece that will help them get over the top.
The Magic have put together a strong roster and could contend in the Eastern Conference this season.

Another key move the Magic made in the offseason was signing free agent guard Tyus Jones to a one-year deal.
Jones is a solid playmaker, passer and a career 37.8 percent three-point shooter. Jones and Bane played together on the Grizzlies for three seasons and during that time they developed a strong on-court chemistry.
Bane was on The Sixth Man Show and he praised the Magic for reuniting him with Jones.
“Tyus is one of my favorite teammates I’ve ever played with. Locker room presence, great family man, and on the court he’s steady.
“We call him ‘stones’, he is that, he is a rock, whether it’s making a big pass, knocking down a shot, getting the team organized, he is the centerpiece.
“Whether he’s coming off the bench, whether he’s starting, somebody that you can always turn to, he’ll be there, he’ll be steady.”
The Orlando Magic have built a strong roster for the 2025-26 NBA season
With the addition of Bane and his three-point shooting, the Magic have one of the best starting fives in the NBA.
They’re going to roll out a lineup of: Jalen Suggs, Bane, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter Jr.
They also have a good bench in Jones, Anthony Black, Tristan da Silva, Jonathan Isaac and Moe Wagner.
The Magic’s roster stacks up well against some of the best teams in the league as they could very well take a massive leap this season.
