The Washington Wizards are completely embracing a rebuild after years of struggles.

The 2024-25 NBA season was another disappointing campaign for the Washington Wizards as they finished with an 18-64 record.

Heading into the offseason, it was evident that some major changes were required to improve the roster for head coach Brian Keefe.

Well, as expected, the Wizards’ front office has shaken things up ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season.

Despite a terrible season, the Wizards had to settle for the No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. The franchise selected Tre Johnson with that pick.

However, that was just the beginning of an incredibly active offseason for the team. After all, the Wizards traded for a young star in Cam Whitmore.

With that said, here are all the additions that the Wizards have made to their roster ahead of the upcoming season.

As mentioned earlier, the most notable addition is of Whitmore as the 21-year-old fell behind the pecking order on the Rockets.

Aside from that, trading for CJ McCollum was an interesting choice as the former Pelicans guard is likely to be brought on as a veteran presence on the roster.

With the Wizards engaging in several trades, it’s only natural for them to send a plethora of players away as well.

However, when it comes to the most notable departure, it’s none other than waiving Marcus Smart. Being a top-notch defender, the LA Lakers didn’t waste much time in signing Smart.

Aside from Smart getting waived, here are all the familiar faces who will no longer don the Wizards’ jersey.

Jordan Poole is another key player who will no longer be a member of the Wizards. In fact, Poole will be one of the most exciting players on the Pelicans’ roster.

All things considered, the 2025-26 Wizards’ lineup won’t likely be enough to lift the team off the bottom of the Eastern Conference, and fans should prepare for another underwhelming season.
