The Dallas Mavericks are in a new era after the team traded away Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in February.

The Dallas Mavericks have committed to a defensive identity led by Anthony Davis and they will also welcome a newcomer in Cooper Flagg.

The Mavericks selected Flagg with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2025 NBA Draft after they shockingly won the NBA Draft Lottery.

Even though Kyrie Irving is out until the new year as he continues to recover from his ACL injury, the Mavericks have a solid starting lineup and deep roster that can make some noise.

The Mavericks have announced that they have signed guard Dennis Smith Jr. and forward/center Jeremiah Robinson-Earl.

The agreement is likely to be an Exhibit 10 training camp deal as he will compete for the Mavericks’ third and final two-way spot.

Robinson-Earl last played with the New Orleans Pelicans and he averaged 6.3 points to go along with 4.8 rebounds in 66 games during the 2024-25 season.

Pelicans radio analyst John DeShazier talked about Robinson-Earl’s contributions and highlighted key components of his game on the New Orleans Pelicans Podcast.

“He’ll rebound, he’ll make some corner threes.

“We saw a little bit of an expansion in his game down the stretch of the season, where he’d make a couple plays off the dribble and kind of shock you, because you’d be like, ‘I didn’t know he had that in his bag.’

“He’s got some things he can work with. He’s not super athletic, he’s not huge at (6-foot-9), not physically gifted, but he’s solid.

“Every NBA team needs solid guys along the roster.”

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl’s career stats

Robinson-Earl spent his first two years in the league with the Oklahoma City Thunder when they were rebuilding. Across 92 total regular season games with the Thunder, he averaged 7.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists.

He and Victor Oladipo were then traded from the Thunder to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Kevin Porter Jr. and a couple of future second-round picks.

Houston cut Robinson-Earl six days later and then he signed a two-way deal with the Pelicans, which was later promoted to a standard contract.

Robinson-Earl appeared in 105 regular season games, which included 10 starts for New Orleans, averaging 5.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.5 steals per game.

Overall, he has averaged 6.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in 197 career regular-season games.
