Jonathan Kuminga’s offseason has officially crossed over into the realm of the bizarre.

The Golden State Warriors restricted free agent forward Kuminga remains unsigned nearly three months into NBA free agency as he continues to hold out for more money from the team. Kuminga is being represented during negotiations by agent Aaron Turner of Verus Basketball.

Earlier this week, Turner posted some highlight clips to social media of Kuminga playing basketball in the gym. One particular clip though drew some negative attention online.

The clip showed Kuminga firing (and making) a catch-and-shoot jumper from the right wing off a pindown screen. However, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the clip appeared to skip a couple of frames right as Kuminga was shooting (possibly in an attempt to make Kuminga’s shot release appear quicker).

Take a look.

Many on X quickly called out Turner over the alleged edit job.

@arockturner20 Is this video altered in any way?

There looks to be a potential frame clip or lag right when JK shoots the ball.

It is unclear if the video was intentionally edited that way or if the skip was simply the product of a legitimate glitch. But the fact that it occurred right at the top of Kuminga’s release had many feeling suspicious.

Overall, the 22-year-old Kuminga’s offseason stalemate with the Warriors has gotten pretty uncomfortable. Kuminga reportedly has certain conditions that he wants met on his next contract that would involve securing as much money as possible along with the flexibility to test free agency again as quickly as possible. The former No. 7 overall pick also has well-documented interest from a rival team, but Golden State apparently isn’t pleased with the sign-and-trade conditions that such a deal would require for the RFA Kuminga.

The Warriors are about to begin training camp in a matter of days, and they still have several empty spots on their roster while they wait for the Kuminga situation to get resolved. Even Golden State’s star players reportedly want the Kuminga saga to finally end already, but now the situation is taking another strange twist with Turner allegedly doing edit jobs for his client.
