The Memphis Grizzlies provided injury updates on Zach Edey, Jaren Jackson Jr., Brandon Clarke and rookie Cedric Coward on Sept. 26.
Edey has been cleared to begin ramping up basketball activities following a June 7 procedure to address his left ankle. He is expected to return to play in 6-9 weeks.

Jackson has also been cleared to resume basketball activities and is expected to return to play in 4-6 weeks. The two-time all-star and 2022 NBA Defensive Player of the Year underwent a procedure on July 2 to repair a turf toe injury.
“I’m feeling good,” Jackson said on Sept. 13. “I’m progressing the right way.”
Clarke went down with a high-grade PCL strain in his right knee on March 19, forcing him to miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season. The Grizzlies announced Clarke had “fully healed,” but after recent offseason training activities, he will require an arthroscopic procedure.
Clarke’s “return-to-play timeline will be announced following the procedure, but a full recovery is expected,” according to a press release. On Sept. 18, Clarke said he was in the process of “ramping up” and expressed confidence he would be “with my team on Day 1.”

Cowardis expected to be a full participant in training camp after completing the rehabilitation process for a left shoulder injury sustained in November 2024 while at Washington State.
Grizzlies training camp will begin on Sept. 30 in Nashville at Belmont University with three days of practices.
