Kevin Durant landed in Houston this offseason as the centerpiece of a historic, record-setting seven-team trade. The Rockets immediately began sketching an offense that would revolve around Durant’s scoring and the inside play of Alperen Sengun as they reshaped the roster for a championship push.
With training camp still weeks away, Durant has had time to scroll X and answer fans. An avid LeBron supporter, Cuff The Legend publicly mocked Durant’s tendency to spar online with people the fan called “irrelevant to his basketball legacy.”
“You know i rock with you heavy scrap but you do be on this app arguing with 437 pound obese men and other assorted nerds who never hooped on nobody’s basketball team in their damn life 😂😂 no way they should be in your head like that,” Cuff wrote.
Durant didn’t let it slide. He answered bluntly, dismissing the critics as “bums” while ridiculing his obsession with LeBron.
“Sorry, Bums annoy me….your mental health is attached to LeBron James though, which is insane because you don’t hoop against him or nothing, your name is just cuffs…hahaha shit be wild in 2025,” Durant wrote.
In another X post, Cuff insisted no one watches his IG stories the way Durant allegedly does and claimed he was just at a high-school football game.
“no place? But nobody and i mean NOBODY literally watches every IG story on that i post like YOU! You are literally a FAN! 😂😂😂😂😂 man i’m at a HS football game watching some kids… leave me alone bruh,” he posted.
Durant answered again with a breezy and teasing line.
“I follow you cuffy, ima see your Ig stories hahaha…enjoy the game,” Durant wrote.
It’s not the only exchange Durant has made on social media. Recently, the Rockets star garnered attention for his back-and-forth exchange with Anthony Edwards.

The conversation reportedly continued into direct messages. Cuff The Legend shared a screenshot of a private message where he again taunted Durant with a darkly theatrical line.
“ticking time bomb and they begging me to detonate it.. if i press this red button..dog.. everybody heaven gated.. press this red button.. dog.. and everything forever changes,” the fan added in the caption.
The exchange is a small but revealing snapshot of Durant’s life. He’s protective of his reputation but also seems to enjoy the little candor of social media sparring.
