CAMDEN, N.J. — The Philadelphia 76ers wrapped up their two-day mini camp at their facility on Sunday before boarding a plane to Abu Dhabi for two preseason games with the New York Knicks on Oct. 2 and Oct. 4. It was a good two days for coach Nick Nurse and Co. as the Sixers continue to prepare for the 2025-26 season.
In terms of injuries, the Sixers knew that Paul George was not able to do much in the beginning of training camp in an effort to speed his recovery time up. However, on the first day of camp, Trendon Watford experienced some right hamstring tightness and the Sixers are taking some time to get him ready for the season.

In terms of training camp, George and Watford have done individual sessions, but nothing with the team. Coach Nick Nurse isn’t too concerned about Watford as he is set to make the trip to Abu Dhabi.
“I think it is it is a little bit precautionary, I think, but I do know—it’s not like we’re waiting for him for the next practice, I don’t believe, right?” Nurse said on Sunday. “But, we are getting closer. I would hope, and I think, that we are going to see him in the practices at some point over there, right? So maybe we got Tuesday and Wednesday. We got a game, Thursday, practice Friday. So there’s only three of them, I think three like days where we’re practicing. So I think we’ll see him at some point over there. It’s what the hope is, I believe.”
The Sixers will face the Knicks on Thursday as they begin the preseason in an effort to steamroll toward opening night in October.
