Through the 2024-25 season, the Los Angeles Lakers have had a total of 506 players suit up for them, going back to their days in Minneapolis. Some were forgettable, some were serviceable, some were good and a select few were flat-out legendary.
As the Lakers embark on their 80th season of existence (they were founded back in 1946 as the Detroit Gems in the National Basketball League), LeBron Wire is taking a look at each player who has worn their jersey, whether it has been a purple and gold one or the ones they donned back in the Midwest during their early years.

In his prime, DeAndre Jordan was one of the NBA’s most ferocious rebounders and shot blockers. He led the league in rebounding average and was named to the All-Defensive first team twice, and he made the All-Star team during the 2016-17 season.
The Lakers signed him in the summer of 2021 to bolster their frontcourt rotation. However, by this point in his career, Jordan was a greatly reduced version of his former self. In 32 games with them, he averaged 4.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 12.8 minutes a game and seemed largely ineffective on the defensive end.
Los Angeles waived him late that season, and he finished the campaign with the Philadelphia 76ers. He spent the following season with the Denver Nuggets and won the NBA championship that June, and he has remained with the Nuggets to this day.
