MISSOULA, Mt. — The Montana Grizzlies are off to a strong start this season with a 4-0 record, including two victories over top 25 teams. Wide receiver Michael Wortham Jr. expressed the team’s confidence after their recent win against Idaho expressing It feels like the team sent a message to the rest of the Big Sky.
This Saturday, the Grizzlies will face the Idaho State Bengals at the ICCU Dome. The Big Sky Conference includes three teams with dome stadiums, and Coach Bobby Hauck acknowledged the unique challenges of playing indoors as a visiting team. “It’s kind of different playing indoors as a general rule,” Hauck said. “Lighting and it’s kind of an interesting place from a noise standpoint. We talk about going on the road, we’ve got a pretty good record on the road too not just at home.”
Despite the Grizzlies’ celebratory mood during their last game, Coach Hauck addressed concerns about excessive touchdown celebrations. “I’ll handle the endzone celebrations,” Hauck said. “Those are all great until someone gets a penalty and then they won’t be playing anymore.” The team looks to maintain their winning momentum while keeping celebrations in check.
