The Boston Celtics may have lost their best player, but that does not mean that their 2025 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals second round series with the New York Knicks is over, or even inevitable. With star forward Jayson Tatum now likely out for a calendar year with a torn Achilles recovery, the weight of the team’s scoring will fall on the shoulders of his teammates.
Can the return of the Hospital Celtics extend the series beyond Game 5 with the TD Garden crowd at their backs? Is it crazy to think they might be able to push the series even further? On Wednesday night, we will find out the answer to at least one of those questions.

For the Celtics, Sam Hauser (ankle) is probable, and Jayson Tatum (Achilles) is out.
For the Knicks, no players are listed as injured.
