DETROIT, Mich. (WNEM) – With training camp set to begin tomorrow, today the Pistons held their annual Media Day.
There’s a lot of excitement around this team after last year’s playoff berth and the Pistons feel there’s no limit to what they can achieve this year.
“I think we proved that last year as far as the expectation and where we ended up,” said 2024 All-Star Cade Cunningham. “Sometimes you can fall into like, oh we have the potential to do something but I want to get everything I can right now. This team wants everything we can get right now. That’s the mindset.”
The Pistons are also excited to have Jaden Ivey back from injury, and JI says he’s grateful for the chance to be back on the court with his guys.
“The journey’s been definitely a grind to get back, to get healed, to get stronger,” said Ivey. “I’m definitely thankful to be in you know this position right now. Be able to be back healthy and to do, you know, what I’ve been working for my whole life.”
This year, the Pistons will have some new faces that should look familiar to Wolverine fans. Duncan Robinson and Caris LeVert are back together after their time playing at Michigan, and they’re happy to be part of a young, exciting team.
“Super excited to be back in a locker room with Caris,” said Robinson. “It was fun talking on the back end of free agency just about before we actually physically got here but excited to reconnect and be excited about playing with each other.”
The Pistons will open the preseason in Memphis next Monday and then the regular season will tip off on October 22nd when Detroit travels to play the Bulls.
