SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The Utah Mammoth added more than 1,100 new lower-bowl seats for NHL fans as part of the first phase of the Delta Center’s transformation.
Smith Entertainment Group announced it had completed the initial phase of renovations, which began in April 2025 during the Mammoth and Utah Jazz offseason.
A spokesperson for SEG said the upgrades included a one-of-a-kind riser seating system, custom-designed for the Delta Center, aimed at improving sightlines for both hockey and basketball games.
The new seating brought the official capacity for Mammoth games to 12,478 for the 2025-26 NHL season. SEG confirmed that seating capacity for Utah Jazz games remained unchanged.
The bowl was also lengthened by 12 feet at each end, and the floor was raised two feet to improve the fan experience and accommodate a new ice slab.
This led to the removal of a wall on Level Three of the Delta Center — a temporary change that SEG noted will be further modified in future phases of construction.

Phase one also included a full renovation of the Black Desert Club on Level 2 and the start of construction on a 450-stall parking structure, which is scheduled for completion before the 2026-27 season.
The transformation of Delta Center is expected to be a multiyear process.
