Coming off the heels of Jonathan Kuminga’s contract stalemate ending, the Golden State Warriors handled another piece of business on Tuesday evening. Adding to their recent veteran free agent signings, the Warriors added another guard to fill out their roster on Tuesday.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, free agent guard Seth Curry has agreed to a one-year deal with the Warriors. Curry, the brother of Golden State legend Steph Curry, is set to hold the Warriors’ 15th roster spot. Curry rounds out Golden State’s veteran free agent haul of Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton and Gary Payton II.

According to Marc Stein, the Warriors are signing Curry to a training camp deal with the expectation of waiving him before the start of the season. The Warriors will later sign Curry back to the team in November. In November, the Warriors will have enough flexibility under the second apron to ink Curry to a contract.

The Warriors, I’m told, are expected to sign Seth Curry to an Exhibit 9 deal as noted below, so they can have him for all of training camp.
He would then have to be waived and re-signed a month or so into the regular season when Golden State has the requisite apron flexibility. https://t.co/slHNDfUayI

After going undrafted out of Duke in the 2013 NBA draft, Seth Curry signed a contract with the Warriors. Curry later joined Golden State’s G League affiliate in Santa Cruz.
After his stint in Santa Cruz, Curry made his debut with the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2013-14 season. Curry bounced around the NBA, playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns before earning a role with the Sacramento Kings in the 2015-16 season. Curry played a career-high 44 games with the Kings in 2015-16.
Curry has since played for the Portland Trailblazers, Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets.
In 2024-25, the 35-year-old guard played 68 games with the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 6.5 points on 47.8% shooting from the field and 45.6% from beyond the arc.
Similar to his brother, Curry is a proven shooter from deep, knocking down 945 triples over his 11-year career. Curry is a career 43.3% shooter from three.
