The Al Horford era in Golden State is officially underway. After an offseason filled with linked between the Warriors and the veteran center, Horford is slated to join Golden State after a four-year stint with the Boston Celtics.

On Wednesday, the Warriors officially introduced Horford as a member of the team. Along with answering questions from members of the media, Horford revealed his new Golden State jersey with a new number.

After wearing No. 42 with the Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder, Horford picked No. 20 for his stint with the Warriors. Horford’s previous number, No. 42, is retired with the Warriors in honor of Nate Thurmond. Horford also wore No. 42 in his college days with the Florida Gators. Horford also wore No. 15 early in his career with the Atlanta Hawks.

Dario Saric was the last member of the Warriors to wear No. 20 in 2024. Other notable members of the Warriors to wear No. 20 include Jordan Bell, Kent Bazemore, James Michael-McAdoo, Larry Hughes, Terry Teagle and Phil Smith.

Other new Warriors have also announced their jersey numbers. Seth Curry will wear No. 31 while De’Anthony Melton will wear No. 8 again.
