PHOENIX — The downtown Phoenix arena that is home to the Suns and Mercury has another new name: Mortgage Matchup Center.
The Suns, Mercury and United Wholesale Mortgage — whose president and CEO is Suns owner Mat Ishbia — announced a 10-year, $115 million naming rights deal on Thursday. Mortgage Matchup is a lending platform operated by United Wholesale Mortgage.
“I’m extremely excited about this partnership as it represents two organizations that have natural alignment and a shared commitment to excellence,” Ishbia said in a press release. “The Phoenix Suns and Mercury have a diverse, passionate and engaged fan base in sports that will allow us to make strong connections between mortgage brokers and consumers.”
In addition to Suns and Mercury home games, the building is set to host the 2027 NBA All-Star Game less than a calendar year after it anchors the 2026 NCAA Women’s Final Four.
“Our arena hosts more than basketball games and entertainment events — it represents a sense of belonging, community and moments fans carry with them forever,” Suns and Mercury CEO Josh Bartelstein said in the release. “That’s exactly why Mortgage Matchup is the perfect partner. Just as they help families achieve the dream of homeownership through local community-focused mortgage brokers, together we’ll create a home for unforgettable memories at Mortgage Matchup Center.”
Signage for the arena’s last sponsored name, Footprint Center, came down over the All-Star break in February as the organization began looking for a new naming rights holder.
The building was known as PHX Arena for the time between rights holders.
