CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The Charlotte Hornets will award a $25,000 grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Crescent Region on Saturday as part of the team’s community outreach across the Carolinas.
The donation, made through the Charlotte Hornets Foundation, will support a new pop-up computer lab designed to expand digital access, provide AI-enhanced tutoring and empower more than 1,000 students in Charleston and Dorchester counties.
A check presentation is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Bridge View Elementary Charter School in North Charleston.

Hornets President of Business Operations Shelly Cayette-Weston, players Moussa Diabate and Liam McNeeley, and North Charleston Mayor Reggie Burgess are expected to take part. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Crescent Region President and CEO Carter Clark will also attend.
On Sunday, the Hornets will host a youth basketball clinic at Meeting Street Academy for Boys & Girls Clubs participants.
In addition, the team has donated more than 750 tickets to local nonprofits for its preseason game against the Oklahoma City Thunder at the North Charleston Coliseum.
