The Oregon men’s basketball team secured a significant recruiting commitment on Friday.

Five-star small forward Tajh Ariza verbally committed to Oregon during a CBS online broadcast from Las Vegas.

The 6-foot-9 Ariza, out of St. John Bosco in Bellflower, Calif., will enter his senior season ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 14 player in the 2026 class and No. 6 at small forward.

Ariza’s father, Trevor Ariza, played 18 seasons in the NBA from 2004 through 2022. He spent part of the 2019-20 season with the Portland Trail Blazers, appearing in 21 games.

Tajh Ariza reportedly chose the Ducks over USC.

“When I went on a visit, it was almost a no-brainer,” Ariza said during his announcement. “Just the environment when I was there. The winning program that they have … And just the culture that they have. The standard. It’s just gonna help me become a better man on and off the court.”

He said he looked forward to adding weight to his 200-pound frame.

The commitment bumped Oregon up to No. 13 in the team recruiting rankings for the 2026 class.

The only other commitment thus far comes from four-star center Kendre Harrison, who also plays football.

The 6-7 Harrison is also rated a five-star tight end.
