With the Dallas Mavericks securing the No. 1 overall pick on Monday, the 2025 NBA Draft gained a little momentum as it is a little more than a month away with the first round beginning on June 25.
Here is where Quaker Valley alum and Arkansas basketball forward Adou Thiero could end up in this year’s draft after various mock drafts.
ESPN is the outlet that has Thiero going the highest out of any other mock drafts and has slotted him as the final pick of the first round. The Clippers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the NBA Playoffs this season and will still be focused on building their roster for an NBA Championship next season.

Senior NBA Analyst for Yahoo Sports Kevin O’Connor has listed Thiero as one of the top picks of second day of the NBA Draft going 32nd overall to the Boston Celtics. The 2024 NBA Champions would be a good landing spot for Thiero, who could carve out a role on the Celtics team with his size and defensive intangibles on the wing.

Sam Vecenie of The Athletic has the Quaker Valley alum slotted with the eighth pick of the second round. The Spurs have two other picks, including the second and 14th pick in the first round. San Antonio finished 13th in the Western Conference (34-48) after star Victor Wembanyama suffered a season ending injury due to having deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder on Feb. 21.
SI.com: 43rd overall, Utah Jazz (via Dallas)
One of the lowest NBA mock draft projections comes from SI.com having Thiero slotted as a mid-second round pick. The Jazz who finished with the NBA’s worst record this past season (17-65) and its worst mark in league history had a great chance at securing the top pick in this year’s draft but fell to fifth overall.
