Jacy Abii, the No. 9 women’s basketball recruit in the class of 2026, announced her commitment to Notre Dame Saturday, Oct. 4. Abii chose the Fighting Irish over other college women’s basketball powerhouses in UCLA, Tennessee, Texas and LSU.

Abii is a 6-foot, 2-inch forward out of Frisco Legion Prep Academy in Frisco, Tex. However, before transferring to Legion Prep Academy ahead of her senior season, Abii led Frisco Liberty High School to back-to-back state championships.

She averaged 20.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game in her sophomore season at Frisco Liberty, but she tore her ACL prior to her junior campaign.

Abii has also won two gold medals with USA Basketball at the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup and the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.

Abii is the third, and most high-profile, recruit that Notre Dame women’s basketball has landed from the class of 2026. Bella Ragone, a 6-foot, 2-inch forward from Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Ga., is the 30th-ranked prospect in the class.

Isabella Sangha, a 6-foot, 3-inch forward from Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is the 81st-ranked prospect in the class of 2026.
