SAN BEDA drew first blood in its long standing rivalry with Letran in the NCAA Season 101 after taking a clinical 68-58 win on Sunday at the Playtime Filoil Center in San Juan.
Playing in his first rivalry match, Janti Miller came up big for the Red Lions as he finished with 20 points and five rebounds while making two key plays on both ends in the clutch to preserve San Beda’s lead.
Miller came away with a big block on Mark Omega with 50 seconds which would’ve cut San Beda’s lead to just four. On the next possession, the Fil-American recruit delivered the coup-de-grace, a driving lay-up which gave the Red Lions a 66-58 lead with 33 seconds remaining
