After the Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal experiment failed, many fans thought Devin Booker’s days with the Phoenix Suns were numbered, too. The 4-time NBA All-Star has been with the franchise since he was drafted, but some thought he wouldn’t have the patience for another rebuild.
So far, Booker has proved the doubters wrong. His loyalty to the Suns was severely underestimated, and it seems that he’s committed to giving it another shot. Booker helped lead Phoenix to their first Finals appearance since 1993 in 2021. And although the team has changed completely since, he thinks they can make it happen once again.

“I have unfinished business here,” Booker told The Athletic. “I know how much it would mean to this city and this organization. That’s my job as a leader. It’s my responsibility (as) a franchise player… I understand how much my voice amongst the younger team that we have now matters, so it’s my job to handle that.”

Booker’s loyalty is something to see in an NBA world where the word has stopped meaning all that much. The road is long, but the 28-year-old has quite a few years of his prime still left. If the Suns build the right way moving forward, it’s not hard to imagine that he can lead them to a championship in the future.
