SAN ANTONIO — New details have emerged about a potential new home for the San Antonio Spurs, which could be part of “Project Marvel.”
City Manager Erik Walsh hosted a question-and-answer session with the media to discuss the project, focusing on the city’s adjustments to the Project Finance Zone. These adjustments could grant access to state funding for a new arena.
“Under the current statute, there are time limits by which the project finance zone projects must be done,” said Walsh. “This one project under the complex, which would include the convention center, the Alamodome, and potentially an arena, gives us the ability to work within the current state law and those timelines continue to our planning.”
Walsh indicated that further discussions on the matter are scheduled for this week’s city council meeting.
