The Oklahoma City Thunder will be without a handful of players for their preseason opener. They will face the Charlotte Hornets on the road to open up their multi-week slate. It shouldn’t be a shocker considering it’s the first game of a road back-to-back.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, Lu Dort, Cason Wallace, Isaiah Hartenstein, Alex Caruso and Ajay Mitchell will all be out, per Thunder reporter Nick Gallo. Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault announced the absences in his pregame media availability.

The Thunder will utilize the preseason to look at their roster. Also, don’t expect them to play most of their starters and key rotation players through most of the exhibitions. They will host the Houston Rockets for 2025-26 Opening Night on Oct. 21.
