If you happen to be a fan of the Charlotte Hornets, which most people aren’t, then you know the name Eric Collins. Collins is the play-by-play broadcaster for the franchise.

The Hornets have not been good for the last several years. However, the team has the most electric person calling their games in Collins.

On Sunday, the popular Hornets broadcaster was in an NFL booth. Collins got the chance to call the Carolina Panthers’ emotional come from behind victory against the Miami Dolphins.

To no surprise to anyone who has heard him on the mic before, Collins was bringing out his best Gus Johnson impression on Sunday.

On a beautiful touchdown connection from Tua Tagovailoa and Jaylen Waddle, Collins delivered the play-by-play like he has been a Dolphins fan all his life.

On the Panthers’ game-winning score, Collins delivered another epic call from the booth.

I have an idea, but I’m not sure how receptive football fans are going to be about it. We have Collins calling all redzone touchdowns. Imagine a new version of RedZone, but a lot more fun.

Hearing Collins call a game of any kind will bring you chills. Unfortunately, the majority of his calls are for the Hornets. Let’s get this guy on the national scene more often.
