Chris Paul’s return to the Los Angeles Clippers this offseason has become one of the most talked-about moves in the NBA. The veteran point guard now joins forces with Kawhi Leonard and James Harden.
Paul still remains uncertain about whether this will be his final NBA season. But his reunion with his former teammate Blake Griffin has added a personal touch to his comeback. During an appearance on “The Underground Lounge” podcast, Paul shared that Griffin personally reached out after the signing was announced.
“Man it’s dope. It’s really dope… DJ, we still talk all the time. Even though JJ coach the Lakers I still talk to him all the time. A lot of guys. Matt Barnes, Jamal Crawford, all us are still well connected. So it’s really dope to still have that bond with them guys,” Paul said.

Together they saw six straight postseason appearances. However, after Paul’s departure in 2017, that dominant chapter eventually came to a close.
Chris Paul Addresses Concerns About the Clippers’ Aging Core
On the podcast, Lou Williams asked Paul about his honest feelings on the Clippers’ aging core. Paul responded with confidence.
“You know, like when you are in the locker room, everybody can say whatever they want on the outside, it’s about what you say on the inside, right? So, the dopest part about our team is age or whatever, but it’s that we have so many different ways that we can play, and we got so many guys who done did so many different things in this league. And that’s up to us to not just say it, but to do it,” Paul said.
Recently the Clippers arranged a minicamp in Arizona. Harden revealed that it was mainly for the older guys to make bonds.
Despite having an older roster, the Clippers’ combination of talent and experience has already sparked excitement among fans. Fans believe this group has the potential to make a serious championship push.
