With the San Francisco 49ers already recording a victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Thursday Night Football, the Golden State Warriors took center stage in the Bay Area on Sunday. For the first time this season, the Golden State Warriors rolled open the doors of San Francisco’s Chase Center for Sunday’s preseason opener against the Los Angeles Lakers.
With LeBron James and Luke Doncic sidelined to start the preseason, the Warriors took advantage. Steve Kerr emptied his bench, playing 18 players on Sunday evening.

While the game was tight through the first two quarters, the Warriors jumped on the Lakers in the third quarter. The Warriors stretched their lead to as many as 24 points late in the third quarter.
Although the Lakers made a run late in the game, rookie Will Richard knocked down a 3-pointer with under 30 seconds remaining to seal the game, 111-103.
Four members of the Warriros tallied double-figure scoring numbers on Sunday, including the game’s leading scorer, Moses Moody. Moody led the Warriors with 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field with five made triples.
Steph Curry tacked on 14 points on five-of-seven shooting from the floor with three made triples. Buddy Hield added 11 points while Pat Spencer recorded 12 points.
New Golden State big man Al Horford tallied three points on 1-of-3 shooting in his Bay Area debut. The veteran center added four rebounds, three assists, three blocks and a steal in 14 minutes off the bench.
Rookie Will Richard played 15 minutes off the bench, tallying three points on 1-of-5 shooting from the field with two rebounds, two blocks and an assist in 15 minutes.

The Warriors will take their 1-0 preseason record into Wednesday night for another contest against the Portland Trail Blazers.
