SAN ANTONIO – With the future of a new downtown arena on the November ballot, the Bexar County Elections Department is reminding voters to leave their Spurs gear at home.
A state law prohibits campaigning for candidates or ballot measures within 100 feet of a polling location. With the arena on the ballot, this means no Spurs shirts, hats, and similar items. The ballot also includes a measure regarding improvements to the rodeo grounds, so the elections department says rodeo gear is prohibited as well.
‘Proposition A’ covers funding for upgrades to the Frost Bank Center, Freeman Coliseum, and the Stock Show and Rodeo. The funding for a new downtown arena for the Spurs is ‘Proposition B.’ Early voting begins Oct. 20.
