The Timberwolves Are Back at Target Center
You know that feeling when you come home from vacation: still half-sunburned, your brain a little too relaxed, and your luggage somehow full of sand you didn’t pack? That’s the Minnesota Timberwolves right now. After a quick preseason getaway to sunny San Diego, the Wolves are back in their natural habitat, Target Center, ready to trade palm trees for pine trees.
This is the first time the Wolves have taken the floor at Target Center since Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, when OKC’s notched a 2-point victory and built an insurmountable 3-1 series lead. The building’s been waiting for a reset button ever since. The Wolves will get their chance to right the ship against the Indiana Pacers, the defending Eastern Conference champs and, weirdly, one of the most likeable rosters in basketball. They’re well-coached, clever, deep, and play like they all went to the same basketball summer camp. If you’re thinking “this sounds like a team that could annoy Minnesota for 48 minutes,” congratulations, you’ve watched the Pacers before.
How to Catch Wolves-Pacers
Last week’s San Diego game wasn’t televised, which meant the only way to “watch” it was to follow beat writers’ tweets and hope they remembered punctuation. This time, we’re back in business. FanDuel Sports Network North has the call, with Michael Grady and Jim Petersen in the booth, easily one of the best commentary duos in the NBA.
As a nod to the Canis Hoopus faithful, FanDuel’s offering us a 30-day free trial, which means you can basically mainline Wolves basketball until your dopamine receptors give out.
If you’re old-school, KFAN FM will have the radio call. And for the podcast generation: yes, you can stream it through the Wolves app or iHeart Radio.
