It’s been nearly a quarter-century since USF and North Texas played, but both matchups from the early 2000s favored the Bulls. Still, both programs are in different places since then. USF was an independent team under Jim Leavitt, while North Texas was in the Sun Belt under Darrell Dickey.
Since then, the Mean Green joined Conference USA in 2013 and the American in 2023. The Bulls bounced around conferences, starting with Conference USA in 2003, joining the Big East in 2005, and heading to the American in 2013.

USF has already been tested by tough competition, so this game shouldn’t scare them, even if it is on the road. Quarterback Byrum Brown is back to his 2023 form, and the Bulls’ offense found balance thanks to him.
Brown leads the Bulls’ rushing attack, but Sam Franklin, Cartevious Norton, and Alvon Isaac provide complementary options for this offense. Their pass catchers aren’t deep, but Chas Nimrod and Keshaun Singleton have proven to be a nightmare to cover.
College Football Predictions Week 7: Projecting Every Game Including Indiana vs. Oregon
North Texas continues to be a surprise of the conference. Eric Morris’ team had plenty of questions heading into the season, with one of them being the quarterback position. Fortunately for them, Drew Mestemaker took command of the job and never looked back.
The offense has multiple options, so it should be able to move the ball. The defense, the bigger surprise of the two units, will have its hands full stopping this Bulls offense. How they perform will determine whether this team keeps its undefeated season alive or not.
