As the New York Knicks consider their options to clear a roster spot, one young star declares his desire to stay with them.
The New York Knicks have a big decision coming up, as they look to finalize their roster for the 2025-26 NBA season.
The Knicks have to choose between two guards – Landry Shamet and Malcolm Brogdon – or trade a player if they want to sign them both.
As things stand, the Knicks are considering trading Pacome Dadiet, even giving the young star minutes in preseason to attract some interest.
One star the Knicks refuse to trade is Miles McBride, as they see him as a big part of their plans. And it appears the young player feels the same way.

Miles McBride did an interview with Steve Popper of Newsday recently. When discussing his future with the New York Knicks, McBride made his intentions clear.
While he doesn’t have the power to stop any trade, McBride wants to be with the Knicks forever, loves playing in New York, and has a deep connection with the fanbase.
“I want to be a Knick for life. I want to be a Knick for life. I can’t control anything. So just going to come to work until they tell me otherwise.
“When the fanbase is behind you through the ups & downs—no matter what—it’s great to play in MSG. It’s the Mecca. I love the City. I love the fans. It’s a hustle culture. I’m a hustle guy. It’s perfect.”

Miles McBride enjoying playing under Mike Brown
During the interview, Mike Brown was also asked about his impressions of McBride. He praised his relentless work ethic and his elite athleticism.
“For sure, Deuce is one of the most athletic guys I’ve been around,” Brown said. “His combination of power, strength, quickness, it’s off the charts for a guy his size…. It surprised me. But he fits well with what we want to do, for sure.”
McBride responded in kind, praising Mike Brown’s tactical and aggressive approach that works so perfectly for him.
“It’s always fun to get up and down. That’s what I like to do, make people play faster. Speed up people.
“I think for a guy that wants to play fast like me and having a coach like that, he definitely wants me to embrace it. Pick up people, make them turn, and really guard my yard.”
With McBride not being an option for the Knicks to trade, they have to choose between Tyler Kolek and Pacome Dadiet.
Financially, the Knicks should trade Dadiet over Kolek, as it gives them more financial flexibility. But the decision will ultimately come down to Leon Rose.
