With the Texas A&M men’s basketball program’s exhibition against Arizona State only 17 days away, head coach Bucky McMillan’s installation of “Bucky Ball” will be on display for the first time against another college basketball squad.
The Aggies are full of fresh faces who all have abilities to match the type of basketball McMillan wants to play against the opposition. His system is a high-octane, all-gas-and-no-breaks offensive attack, which requires players who can shoot consistently from three-point range.
Spanish guard Rubén Dominguez is one of those exceptional athletes who could contribute significantly to the Aggies’ game plan in their first season under McMillan.
Dominguez has played in 150 contests overseas, while helping his teams secure silver and gold medals during the FIBA U16 and U19 competitions, and was named the 2019 World Championship MVP for averaging 12.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists for Spain. With Surne Bilbao Basket in 2025, Dominguez hit 47.3% from the field, while also being named the Spanish ACB Week 13 Player of the Week for scoring 35 points in a single contest.
Joining him at the guard position is NC State transfer Marcus Hill, who averaged 11.5 points per game last season for the Wolfpack, while also shooting 45.3% from the field. Integral pieces to McMillan’s offense, like Dominguez and Hill, could help Texas A&M’s offense explode in this new system.
Before the Aggies travel to Rosenberg, Texas, to face the Sun Devils on Sunday, Oct. 26, here is everything McMillan, Dominguez and Hill said during media availability on Wednesday:
