The Boston Celtics start their NBA Preseason journey on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies (0-1). This season unveils a whole new look for Boston. They will likely be without All-NBA star Jayson Tatum (Achilles) for the season. That led to a reshaping of the roster, trading Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, while letting Al Horford leave in free agency. All-Star Jaylen Brown and Derrick White are the only two starters from Boston’s 2024 Championship season. That opens up even more opportunities for Payton Pritchard, Sam Hause and new addition Anfernee Simons on the offensive end for Boston this season.

Memphis opened the NBA Preseason with a high scoring loss to the Detroit Pistons. In that loss, the Grizzlies were without Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr.,he team’s two All-Stars.
New additions Ty Jerome (16 points) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (15 points) led Memphis in scoring. Rookie Cedric Coward struggled in his debut, shooting 0-for-7 from the field in 18 minutes.
