LOS ANGELES —
Former Boston Celtics player Paul Pierce was arrested after being found asleep behind the wheel in Los Angeles, authorities said.

Officers noted signs of alcohol impairment and conducted a DUI investigation, CHP said. Pierce was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, authorities said.
Pierce was drafted by the Celtics with the 10th overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft. He was a 10-time all-star and helped Boston win an NBA title in 2008.
He’s the team’s second all-time leading scorer with 24,021 career points in Celtic green.
His 15 seasons with the Celtics are second only to John Havlicek, who played 16 with the team.
Pierce retired from the Celtics in 2017.
CHP said they will present the case to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office for review.
