INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Former Murray State Racer Cameron Payne looks to carve out a role on another NBA team, as the 11th-year pro signed with the Indiana Pacers on a training camp deal, the team announced Thursday.

Payne averaged just under 7 points per game with the New York Knicks last season. He joins a Pacers team looking for guard help as All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton will miss the season due to recovery from a torn Achilles suffered in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

Should Payne make the Pacers roster, it would mark his 11th season in the NBA and his 8th different team.
