MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Ja Morant on Thursday gifted kids at the Bernal E. Smith Senior Boys & Girls Club in Memphis with new shoes. The Memphis Grizzlies star was there to unveil a refurbished basketball court at the center as part of the Grizzlies’ Dream Court program.
In partnership with FedEx, the program is inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of equality, unity and community empowerment.
“Through the Dream Court Series, the Grizzlies and FedEx aim to provide safe, inclusive spaces for children, families and neighbors to come together, play and grow,” the Grizzlies said in a statement. “These courts will serve as hubs of activity, creativity and collaboration, empowering communities to dream bigger and strive for greatness both on and off the court.”
The Grizzlies are now accepting applications from communities and groups to add or renovate basketball courts.
