The Suns initially acquired Jordan Goodwin in June 2023 as part of the Bradley Beal trade with the Washington Wizards.
After being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in February 2024, Goodwin was later waived by the Los Angeles Lakers and then claimed by the Suns off the free agency waivers in July 2025.
Goodwin is looking to make the most out of this opportunity with the Suns this time around. He got off to a good start, scoring a team-high 19 points in 18 minutes. He also had 7 rebounds.
Goodwin shot 5-for-10 from the field and 3-for-6 from deep. It was an encouraging sign from the 26-year-old as he looks to crack the Suns’ rotation this season.
Jordan Goodwin enters his second stint with the Phoenix Suns
Goodwin is a physical point-of-attack guard who rebounds like a wing, disrupts ball-handlers and makes the hustle plays.
In his first Phoenix stint during 2023–24, he averaged 5.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 14.0 minutes per game.
Last season, Goodwin appeared in 29 games for the Lakers and averaged 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds on 43.8 percent shooting from the field.
Goodwin emerged as a key rotation piece for JJ Redick late last season, playing in four playoff contests.
