Payton Pritchard gave praise to one of his Boston Celtics teammates for being one of the best shooters in the NBA.

The Boston Celtics are going to need all their players to step up and deliver for them next season, as they grapple with Jayson Tatum’s Achilles injury.

When crisis strikes, it brings along opportunity. That’s exactly what has happened for young Celtics guard Payton Pritchard.

After the team made several moves to clear cap space, Pritchard has earned the Celtics’ starting point guard role.

And it appears the young star will keep his eye open for one Celtics star who is arguably the best catch-and-shoot player in the league.

Payton Pritchard spoke on Derrick White’s podcast about playing with Sam Hauser. He had nothing but praise for his teammate.

In particular, Pritchard highlighted Hauser’s ability as a catch-and-shoot star, calling him one of the best in the league, and praised his shot motion.

“He has the best shooting form. I love watching Sam. Off the dribble, obviously, but that catch-and-shoot!

“Running this way, running that way. He’s one of the best catch-and-shoot shooters, if not the best in the league. If it’s open? Swoosh.”

Boston Celtics need role players to elevate their game

Players like Sam Hauser are going to have a big role to play on the Boston Celtics next season, as they look to navigate a difficult campaign.

Jayson Tatum’s injury means that the Celtics will not be competing for an NBA championship, barring any massive surprises or an improbably early return for Tatum.

The Celtics are going to depend on their role players now more than ever. It appears some of them have made an impression, with Josh Minott earning Joe Mazzulla’s praise recently.

With a difficult season ahead of them, the Celtics can hope that this gives their young players the opportunity they need to take the next step in their development.
