INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana Pacers are back at Gainbridge Fieldhouse Saturday night as they face the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first home game of the preseason.
This will be the Pacers’ first game at Gainbridge since Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
The Pacers won their first preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves in an overtime thriller, 135-134. Eighteen different players hit the court in that game, with no Pacers starter playing more than 14 minutes.
Some injury notes are heading into Saturday’s game: Pacers rookie Kam Jones will miss out with a back injury, while veteran guard T.J. McConnell is also expected to be out multiple weeks with a hamstring injury.
Pacers forward Pascal Siakam shared his excitement leading up to the game, saying it is always good to be back home.
“I think Fan Jam was (great) … to see the guys and the fans show up. (I’m) excited to be back at home, obviously – it’s a preseason game but it’s always good to be out there playing in front of the fans.”
This will be the Pacers and Thunder’s only matchup in the preseason. The Pacers’ next game is on Monday against the San Antonio Spurs.
The regular season will tip off for the Pacers on Oct. 23, and they’ll face the Oklahoma City Thunder in an NBA Finals rematch.
