The Portland Trail Blazers never trailed in the second half Thursday on its way to a dominating 101-79 win at Orlando.
Toumani Camara hit a 3-pointer to put the Blazers ahead for good midway through the second quarter. Jabari Walker and Scoot Henderson scored back-to-back layups, and Shaedon Sharpe drilled a 3-pointer, as Portland scored on six straight trips down the floor.
The Blazers ended the first half on a 21-8 run and went into halftime with a 47-39 lead.
Portland stayed strong through the finish with Deni Avdija lofting an alley-oop for Robert Williams III for an 85-70 lead as the clock ticked under six minutes.
Anfernee Simons hit his third 3-pointer of the game to build the lead to 20 points with 2:35 to play. He finished with a game-high 21 points, as five different Blazers scored in double figures. Williams III led the defensive effort with 12 rebounds and four blocked shots.
“The emphasis has been to fight the whole game,” Williams III said. “We just tried to take it to them the best that we could.”
Portland (16-28) looks to wrap up a perfect record on its three-game road trip with a game at Charlotte at 4 p.m. Friday.
The Blazers return home for a Sunday afternoon game against Oklahoma City.
