The Cavalanche, a phrase coined to describe a Cleveland Cavaliers scoring onslaught during last season’s games, will now be a Frosty frozen dessert at Wendy’s restaurants throughout Northeast Ohio.

Fans will receive a free small Frosty anytime a Cavalanche occurs within 24 hours after that game.

The Cavs view it as a way to further enhance connection to the team’s fans.

The partnership will also consist of five “Cavalanche” pop-ups that the Cavs and Wendy’s will host throughout the season. They will include snow drops, Cavs entertainment teams and other surprises. Announcement of those pop-ups will be made on the team’s various social media accounts.

“By joining forces with Wendy’s – an iconic brand rooted right here in Ohio – we connect Cavaliers fans to a sense of hometown pride and tradition,” Allison Howard, executive vice president and chief commercial officer for the Cavs, said in a news release. “This partnership is all about blending the excitement of Cavaliers basketball with the deliciousness of the Wendy’s Frosty to create meaningful moments for our fans, both in-arena and at Wendy’s locations across Northeast Ohio.”
