Is the debate over starting center open after the Boston Celtics preseason loss to the Toronto Raptors? After analysts and fans of the Celtics saw what Portuguese big man Neemias Queta was capable of in FIBA EuroBasket play this summer, it seemed all but certain that the Lisbon native would take the helm as Boston’s starting center in the wake of the exits of Luke Kornet, Al Horford, and Kristaps Porzingis this offseason.
But after a rough preseason debut for Boston that saw him make a lot of mistakes and add little on either end while bigs Chris Boucher and Luka Garza were thriving, and it seems that the certainty we all had about who would be starting at the 5 for the Celtics this season seems much more up in the air. But is it really?
The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast, Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over. Check it out below!
