The Cleveland Cavaliers visit the Boston Celtics tonight in a preseason matchup at TD Garden. After splitting two games, Boston looks to gain momentum back on its home floor. Cleveland enters the game still in search of its first preseason win, having dropped its first two outings.
In their preseason opener, Jaylen Brown scored 21 points in 20 minutes in a dominant 121–103 win over the Grizzlies, and Derrick White added 16 points and 10 assists.
Boston’s second outing — a narrow 107–105 loss to Toronto — came with a heavily reduced rotation as the Celtics rested most of their starters, including Brown, White, and others. Brown, who had been listed as day-to-day for rest, is back in the lineup tonight as the Celtics look to re-establish rhythm and chemistry ahead of the regular season.
Cleveland, meanwhile, has kept its 64-win core intact but remains winless in preseason play. Donovan Mitchell led the way with 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists in their latest loss to Chicago, while Evan Mobley and De’Andre Hunter have shown consistency inside and on the perimeter. The Cavaliers have struggled with rebounding and turnovers early, areas they’ll look to clean up against a deeper Boston squad tonight.
