Phoenix Suns fans share their thoughts on new-look roster
The Phoenix Suns made many changes to their roster in the offseason. Here’s what fans had to say about the new-look team ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The Phoenix Suns have a unique preseason that’s crammed in the middle with three games in five days, but with extra time before and after.
They had eight days of training camp before their first preseason game and seven after their final one on Oct. 14, before their season opener on Oct. 22.
“We have a little bit of a preseason because of our China trip and because of that fourth game after,” Suns first-year head coach Jordan Ott said. “That puts a curve ball in all this. We have to get our guys ready and our group faster than probably normal. We obviously started early, but we only have three games, you know. That fourth game is going to be different when we fly back from China. Two days later, you play.”
Here’s a schedule breakdown from the start of training camp to the season opener.
Sept. 25. The Suns started training camp at the team’s practice facility and practiced three straight days before taking off Sunday, Sept. 28. They then practiced for four more days.
Oct. 3. Phoenix played its first preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers in Palm Desert, California. The Suns didn’t practice the next day.
Oct. 5. The Suns took a 7,500-mile flight to China for two preseason games against the Brooklyn Nets in Macao. They practiced the day before in Phoenix.
With Macao being 15 hours ahead of Phoenix, the Suns lost a day in travel.
Oct. 10. The Suns played against the Nets at the 14,000-seat Venetian Arena in Macao.
Oct. 12. Phoenix is scheduled to face Brooklyn for a second time in Macao.
Oct. 13. The Suns will fly back from China to Phoenix.
Oct. 14. Phoenix plays its final preseason game at home against the Lakers at Mortgage Matchup Center. The Suns only have one home preseason game scheduled.
Oct. 22. The Suns open the 2025-26 regular season against the Sacramento Kings at Mortgage Matchup Center.
