Another Milwaukee Bucks first-round playoff exit has led to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s name being a popular mention for potential trades this summer. Many NBA teams could use a former two-time NBA MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and nine-time All-Star.
Memphis Grizzlies forward GG Jackson was asked about the idea of teaming up with Antetokounmpo in the Bluff City on May 14. Jackson wasn’t against the idea.

“That would be insane,” Jackson said. “He’s definitely a player that can come to any organization, any offensive system, any defensive system and make an immediate impact. I really don’t know how far we’re looking into that. I’m not opposed to anything, mainly because that’s above my pay grade, and just he’s a legendary player in the flash. Whatever we can get to help us get over that hump, I feel like we kind of should take, I guess.”
Antetokounmpo is one of the NBA’s top players. Since winning a championship in 2021, the Bucks went to the second round once and have had three consecutive playoff exits in the first round.
If Antetokounmpo is traded, it would take a massive deal to acquired the 30-year old. Memphis would need to move at least one of its top players in order to match salary. That would mean Ja Morant, Desmond Bane or Jaren Jackson Jr. would need to be traded if the Grizzlies acquired Antetokounmpo.

It remains unclear if the Bucks will actually gauge the interest in trading Antetokounmpo, but several teams have already been rumored to be enamored with the idea of adding the star forward.
